Julie Hobson

Julie Hobson

Julie has over 20 years’ experience as a family lawyer.

Julie has experience working in all areas of private family law including Children Act proceedings, prohibited steps and specific issue, financial remedy proceedings, working with separated couples on resolving disputes including Tolata, Schedule 1 of the Children Act as well as Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements and cohabitation.

Not all divorces or separations need to be acrimonious. Julie has particular interest in non-Court dispute resolution and is something that she has been developing in more recent years.  Julie is a collaborative lawyer which means that with her by your side she can work with both you and your ex-partner and their collaborative lawyer to try and reach a more amicable and fair agreement.

Julie is also a qualified Resolution Together lawyer which means that she can act for both parties in a divorce in certain circumstances and work with the former couple to resolve their dispute.  As part of this, Julie also works alongside other professionals who work with separated families such as financial advisors, pension experts and divorce coaches.  Julie firmly believes that there is a role for lawyers in preventing family disputes from escalating on separation, and to help the couple find a better way to conclude their financial arrangements.
