Amanda Finn

Amanda joined Gullands in 2004 before becoming a Partner in 2014. Amanda is Head of the Employment Department and is also a member of the Family Department. Amanda has been a solicitor since 1990. Amanda has been named as a recognised practitioner in Chambers & Partners 2017 legal directory and the team is recognised in the Legal 500 for 2017.

Employment

Amanda has a wide range of experience of contentious and non-contentious employment work. She acts for local businesses of all sizes on a wide range of employment matters, e.g. provision of contracts, staff handbooks and HR policies as well as advice on termination of contracts and representation in the Employment Tribunals. She advises a number of charity structures within Kent and the locality and has a special interest in the ways social media has brought new opportunities and dangers to the employment relationship. The department provides seminars and tutorials throughout Kent in conjunction with other professionals.

Professional Experience

The following are examples of projects recently undertaken:

  • Dealing with all HR issues arising from large charity to include issues of volunteers, retirement, long term sickness.
  • Review of all contractual documentation and handbooks for large company.
  • Representation in Unfair Dismissal and Discrimination claims before the Employment tribunal.
  • Drafting and Advising on Director’s Service Agreements.
  • Advising on all employment aspects connected with purchase/sale/transfer of a business.
  • Restructuring of a Charity involving consultation, new contracts and redundancies.
  • Drafting and Advising on Settlement Agreements.

Matrimonial

Amanda also practices family law where she is able to help in all family related matters including pre-nups, separation agreements, divorce and child related matters.
